Gillian Crippen has joined Green Real Estate Education. She holds a BA degree from Tulane University and her Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts. She has a background in Urban Planning, Government Administration, and Nonprofit Management. In 2006, she was recruited via a nationwide search by Pinellas County to participate in the Management Associate Program, working on special projects for the County Administrator's Office. In collaboration with the Florida Green Building Coalition, she compiled the Green Local Government application for Pinellas County. As a result, Pinellas County became the first designated Green Local Government in the State of Florida. Because of this success, Gillian lent the tools she developed to other local governments throughout Florida.
Gillian served on the board of the Florida Green Building Coalition and been an active member of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the US Green Building Council. Most recently, Gillian worked for the University of Florida/Pinellas County Extension as an Urban Sustainability Agent, collaborating with governmental and nonprofit organizations in Florida to incorporate sustainable practices into their policies and everyday operations.
